1. First and Foremost Find Babysitters for the Kids and the Dog

Unless you want the kids to enjoy the festival with you and make it a full family event, you’ve got to lock down childcare first. Line up a babysitter for the kids, someone reliable to watch the dog, and make sure everyone’s set for the weekend. Nothing kills the vibe faster than worrying about what’s happening back home. Once you know the kids and the dog are taken care of, you can actually relax and enjoy the music.

2. Make Her Comfortable

The first thing you have to lock in is comfort. If she’s not sleeping well, nothing else about the weekend is going to feel fun. So bring a real mattress, soft bedding, cozy blankets, and set the tent up like an actual bedroom. 3. Keep Her Clean

Most festivals have very nice shower facilities.  If she can stay clean, she’ll stay happy. Bring a real shower setup — a privacy tent, a good camp shower, plenty of warm water, and her favorite toiletries. Add wipes, towels, and a spot to change without feeling cramped. 4. Give Her Good Lighting

Bad lighting ruins everything — getting dressed, doing makeup, finding things in the tent, even just feeling awake. Bring battery‑powered lanterns, soft string lights, and a couple of bright task lights so she can actually see what she’s doing. If the tent feels warm, lit, and easy to move around in, she’ll feel way more at home (with a music festival vibe) instead of stuck in a dark cave. 

5. Make the Space Feel Cute

She doesn’t want a bare tent with gear tossed everywhere. Add a rug, a couple of throw pillows, a small table, and some cozy touches so it feels like a space she actually wants to hang out in. 6. Set Up a Nice Shaded Outdoor Space

She’s not hanging out in direct sun all day. Create a comfortable shaded spot outside the tent — a canopy, a pop‑up shade, or even a big umbrella. Add a couple of chairs, a small table, and some soft lighting so it feels like a relaxing lounge instead of a hot, exposed patch of grass. If she has a cool, shaded place to unwind between sets, she’ll enjoy the whole weekend way more.

7. Pack Her Favorite Snacks

Festival food is fun, almost all of them have an unlimited supply of yummy food vendors…  Bring the snacks she actually loves — the ones she grabs at home without thinking. Her favorite chips, candy, fruit, protein bars, whatever makes her feel comfortable and taken care of. If she knows she can eat what she likes whenever she wants, the whole weekend feels easier, calmer, and way more enjoyable.  Don't forget kitchen gear if you plan on eating at your campsite.

9. Bring a Couple of Chairs So You Can Actually Enjoy the Music

This might be one of the most important parts. Festivals don’t have much shade, and standing for hours gets old fast. Bring two comfortable chairs — the kind you can sit in all night without your back hurting. Set them up early so you’ve got your own little spot to relax, sip a drink, and enjoy the music if you don't feel like dancing. If she can sit comfortably during the shows, the whole weekend feels way better.
